Cows In the Kitchen

This week our big book was cows in the kitchen. 

Our favourite parts were making the animal sounds and saying "WAKE UP, TOM FARMER!" really loud.

When we tried to find our big book on youtube, we found a different version that someone else had made...

This inspired us to do our own writing which we call "Animals in the classroom."

Sight word of the week: like

This week we have been learning how to spell the word 'like'.

Here is a catchy song that we have been using to help us remember how to spell 'like'.

Our poem for the week was:

I like...

I like sausages,
I like stew,
I like me,
I like you,
I like icecream
And chocolate, too,
I like me
And I like you.

Here is some writing we did using our special sightword of the week:

We were learning to:

• use words from around the classroom. 
  e.g. using the colour chart to help us spell colour words.
• sound out words we didn't know how to spell and to write the sounds we heard.
• give tricky words a go ourselves!

Ronald McDonald Visit

We were very excited all day because of the special person who came to our school today and taught us all about road safety.

We are FAMILY

We welcome the start of our new learners to St James School and the start of our third Junior class. With only six to start we have so much to do to become more familiar with our learning space and about who we are! This week the children of Great 8 will be venturing around the school finding out what is special about our school and the important people in our school that will help us. We welcome Antonia Sarah das Byron Still Corban Sullivan-Jones Riley Shortall Kayden Mills Latai Siu We met up with some teachers and children from across the school. They were all very eager to take time to have a photo with us and share what they do to help us.
