Assumption of Mary

On Friday we were very excited to go on our first bus ride to St Patrick's Cathedral to celebrate the Assumption of Mary.  All the children showed lots of respect in church and took part in the mass with reverence and self control.  They all especially enjoyed going up to get a blessing during communion.  A great day to celebrate a special occasion.

Big Book - Lavalava

In Room 8 this week, we have been reading "Lavalava by Lino Nelisi". It is about Sofia, her family and all the things they do while wearing their lavalavas.

We have been using our big book to learn how to read and recognise the sightword "here". We have also been practicing reading with clear and confident voices. Not shouting or mumbling.

Latai wore her lavalava to school today for mufti day, isn't it beautiful.

We recorded ourselves reading lavalava for you. We hope you enjoy it. Press the green button below to hear us reading the story to you.
